A forum for Industry, Academia, Government and Consumers on Indoor Air Quality
IAQS is a not-for-profit Association, which aims to use the knowledge and momentum generated by its network to raise awareness of the wide range of human health issues directed related to compromised indoor air. We aim to bring industry experts, researchers regulators government officials and consumers together to stimulate debate in order to educate the public at large on IAQ, as well as to address the many misperceptions in this area.
This IAQS talk aims to provide education and support on how to take the best approach to mitigate the spread of airborne infections, and why maintaining good levels or air quality needs to be part of any effective infection control and prevention programme.
During the rapid rise in COVID-19 illnesses and deaths globally, and notwithstanding recommended precautions, questions are voiced about routes of transmission for this pandemic disease. Inhaling small airborne droplets is probable as a third route of infection, in addition to more widely recognized transmission via larger respiratory droplets and direct contact with infected people or contaminated surfaces
