Indoor air pollutants and removal strategies | IAQ linked to microbiology !
During the 33rd ECCMID Conference (European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) which was held in Copenhagen from 15- 18 May 2023, Prof. dr. Philomena Bluyssen, IAQS Steering Committee Member presented: Indoor air pollutants and removal strategies.
The recent pandemic has forced all healthcare workers to examine air quality in all indoor environments. Improving indoor air quality in clinical environments represents a hitherto overlooked infection prevention level impacting airborne pathogens.
All healthcare staff should have the opportunity to learn about the importance of IAQ and the effects on our health and wellbeing, not only for the patient but also for the staff.
This presentation will give you an inside of the importance of the use of ‘proper‘ ventilation measures. You will learn more about the pros and cons of different ways of ventilation, as well as air cleaning as a measure to reduce long range transmission.
